Texas defense debuts new tradition after forcing turnover in Week 1

Texas enters the 2026 season with one of the best defenses in the country, with playmakers at all three levels of the defense.
One of those guys who can make a ton of plays on defense is Raheem Biles, and he showcased his talent by forcing not one, but two turnovers in the opener against Texas State.
After one of those turnovers, Biles took the ball and gave a little celebration. He didn’t take the ball to a teammate or his coach, but rather, he ran it to the Longhorns’ mascot, Bevo.

Turnover celebrations have blown up across college football in the last few years, with teams coming up with some wild celebrations. Bringing the football to a live mascot is one that hasn’t been as prevalent, but this could be the move that inspires more players across the country to do it.
The Longhorns have the type of defense that can give every offense some issues, and there are signs of plenty of turnovers being forced this year. In Week 2, the Longhorns defense will get a much tougher test, as they will host Ohio State in a rematch from last year’s 14-7 loss in Columbus.
