Texas has added one of the top in-state cornerbacks to its 2027 recruiting class.
Montre Jackson is the newest Longhorn commitment. The blue-chip recruit pledged to play for Steve Sarkisian‘s program on Saturday.
Out of Garland (Texas) Lakeview Centennial High School, Jackson is listed as measuring 6-1 and 185 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Jackson is rated 4-stars, the No. 27 cornerback, No. 36 player in the state of Texas and No. 223 prospect overall in the Class of 2027.

Recruitments are bigger in Texas, and Jackson had no shortage of options with 39 scholarship offers. Arkansas, Florida State, LSU, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt were among the programs that showed interest.
For Saturday’s big decision, Jackson narrowed things down to Texas, Ole Miss and SMU. While SMU campus is close to home, Jackson is choosing to head down the road to Austin and play in the SEC.
