Out of Chandler (Arizona) Basha High School, Roberts is listed as measuring 6-feet and 195 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Roberts is rated 4-stars, the No. 4 player in the state of Arizona, No. 18 running back and No. 254 prospect overall in the Class of 2027.
Roberts has been widely recruited. As of Friday, he has scholarship offers from 37 programs. In addition to Texas, Alabama, Florida (Longhorns running backs coach Jabbar Juluke’s previous stop), Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and USC were among the programs to show interest. For Friday’s decision, Roberts told Fawcett that it came down to Texas, Michigan, Oregon and Arizona State.
With Basha on board, Texas now has 10 commitments in its 2027 class, which ranks No. 14 nationally on the Composite. It will be a while before Roberts is running wild in Austin, but Horns fans are sure to appreciate seeing his impressive speed in burnt orange.
