Texas added one of the top offensive line prospects in the 2027 class on Saturday, landing a commitment from 5-star OL Ismael Camara.
The Longhorns gained Camara’s commitment over Oregon and SMU. Oregon made an especially strong push and had Camara on an official visit on June 19. In addition to the Ducks and Mustangs, Camara also held offers from Florida, LSU, Michigan, Georgia, Ohio State and Florida State to name a few.
As you can see above, Camara stands at 6-foot-6, 345 pounds — an SEC-ready frame. He plays for Gilmer high school, which is located in Northeast Texas.
As mentioned, Camara is one of the top prospects in the nation according to 247Sports. He’s considered to be the No. 20 overall player and the No. 3 offensive tackle and the No. 3 prospect out of the Lone Star State.
The Texas Longhorns are recruiting better than most teams in the country right now. The Longhorns boast the nation’s No. 4 recruiting class for 2027 following Camara’s commitment, which ranks 2nd in the SEC. Camara is the 3rd 5-star prosect to hop aboard, too, joining New Orleans-based WR Easton Royal and Fort Worth’s John Meredith III, the nation’s top cornerback.
