The Texas A&M defense will get a boost next year, as senior S Donovan Wilson is expected to return to the team.
On Sunday, Wilson announced that he’d be returning to the Aggies in 2018 for one last year of eligibility.
Instead of entering the 2018 NFL Draft, Wilson will instead receive a fifth year of eligibility from the NCAA via a medical redshirt:
Things didn’t go as planned this year but after lots of praying and talking to my family and teammates I am excited and blessed to announce that I will be returning to Texas A&M for a 5th year thanks and Gig em ??

Wilson suffered a season-ending foot injury in Texas A&M’s Week 1 collapse against UCLA, so he didn’t see much action this year.
In three years with the Aggies, Wilson has 132 tackles, three sacks, six interceptions and three forced fumbles.
Having him back in 2018 will provide a veteran presence on the back end of the Aggies’ defense, which was torched by Wake Forest in the Belk Bowl on Friday.
If he stays healthy, Wilson could work his way up NFL Draft boards ahead of the 2019 Draft.
