Texas takes early lead at Tennessee as Raleek Brown scores TD on opening drive

The No. 1-ranked Texas Longhorns made the trip to Tennessee in Week 4 for their first true road test of the 2026 campaign against the No. 14-ranked Tennessee Volunteers.
The Horns got the ball first in front of a capacity crowd in Neyland Stadium, and immediately got to work on offense, with star quarterback Arch Manning leading a masterful opening drive down the field.
The 7-play, 75-yard possession took just over 4 minutes off the clock and ended with a shifty 9-yard touchdown scamper by senior running back Raleek Brown, giving the Horns an early lead and silencing the 100,000+ in attendance.
An Arizona State transfer, Brown joined Texas last offseason after spending the previous 2 seasons with the Sun Devils. Before ASU, Brown spent 2 years with the USC Trojans, from 2022 to 2023, where he was initially recruited to play wide receiver.
Head coach Steve Sarkisian brought Brown in to complement Hollywood Smothers, and the veteran back has played that role perfectly over the first few weeks of the season.
This early score against the Vols was his third of the campaign, and Texas is looking to see plenty more from the senior as they look to chase down a National Championship.
