Texas won a very big game on Saturday night in Austin, and 2 days later, on Monday morning, the now top-ranked Longhorns got the royal treatment in the truest form during the latest installment of SEC Shorts.
The Horns pulled off a miraculous 4th-quarter comeback in front of a national TV audience on ABC, scoring 21 points to overcome a 23-3 deficit. It was a thrilling 24-23 victory over then-No. 1 Ohio State, and on Sunday the Longhorns were rewarded by becoming the new No. 1 team in the land in both major polls, with the AP and Coaches polls placing Texas atop the college football world in the aftermath of Week 2.
But then Monday morning came what might be the biggest reward of all, right? That would be taking the throne in the latest SEC Shorts skit, with a red carpet and all leading to that throne, because isn’t that what Arch Manning and Co. deserve right now?
College football is currently colored with a burnt orange tint entering Week 3, and the folks at SEC Shorts couldn’t help but get that point across on Monday morning in the funniest way possible. Nobody back in Columbus was laughing though on Saturday night as that big, late lead slipped away in Austin, but maybe this SEC Shorts installment will give Ohio State fans a little bit to smile about.
Or maybe not.
