The Texas Longhorns won the first-ever SEC Rowing Championship early Sunday morning, beating out competitors Tennessee, Alabama and Oklahoma.

The event was held at Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, just outside of Knoxville. Before Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC only Tennessee and Alabama boasted a rowing program, not enough to hold a championship of any sort.

Texas’s crew featured Amy Werner as the Coxswain (a crewmember who does not row, but instead directs the boat), Sue Holderness, Imy Grey, Marg Van Der Wal, Ilva Boone, Phoebe Wise, Lucy McFarlane, Lucy Searle and Abby Dawson. The Longhorns, apart from Tennessee, wiped the field with the competition, posting a 6:12.420. The Lady Vols finished close behind at 6:15.586. Oklahoma and Alabama weren’t as competitive, posting times of 6:31.921 and 6:36.331, respectively.

Commissioner Greg Sankey was in attendance for the event. Here’s video Sankey posted to X during the championship:
