Mac Jones has filled in admirably for Tua Tagovailoa since the star Alabama quarterback went down with an injury.

However, in his 2 starts thus far, Jones hasn’t exactly faced stiff competition, beating Arkansas and Western Carolina. On Saturday, he’ll face his biggest challenge yet, taking on Auburn in the Iron Bowl.

On SportsCenter on Saturday morning, analyst Tim Tebow said Jones’ biggest challenge will be trying to take advantage of Auburn’s man coverage while avoiding the star-studded pass rush.

“Well, I think you got to start with the big boys up front,” Tebow said. “This defensive line at Auburn — I think they’re the best in the country, specifically Derrick Brown and Marlon Davidson. … The one thing that Auburn does that could help a young quarterback in Mac Jones — they play man-to-man coverage. Guess what? When you’re a young quarterback, you don’t want to see fancy zones, but when they’re playing man-to-man coverage I find my best matchup. And against Alabama, you have a lot of good matchups with Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs and all these great receivers. You can find a good matchup, and I think that could really help Alabama.”

Indeed, getting the ball to the receivers and letting them make plays will be key for the Crimson Tide. The only question is whether Jones will have time to do that or not.

Tune in to CBS at 3:30 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday to find out how Jones fares.
