Those in the know are well aware of what Tony Carter’s “GATA” tattoo stands for but when asked about it during his recent media availability, the junior from Valdosta, Ga., gave another explanation.
“Get after them aggressively,” is what Carter said the tattoo stood for as he showed it off for the media in attendance.
However, according to Jacques Doucet of WAFB in Baton Rouge, “Get after their asses” is the actual meaning behind the tattoo.
That’s exactly the attitude that led to Carter appearing in 12 games for LSU during his sophomore season and working his way into a leader for the Tigers offense.

#LSU Tory Carter has a GATA tattoo, which he jokes stands for "Get After Them Aggressively".
The saying was adopted by Georgia Southern years back, meaning "Get After Their A$$es". Carter's father played for the Eagles in the 1980's, winning a national championship in '86. pic.twitter.com/bCKM6BWSvF
