Four-star prospect Kendrick Norton has dominated both sides of the football for Trinity Christian Academy (Jacksonville, Fla.). The senior ranks as the No. 14 overall offensive guard for the 2015 recruiting class and has also contributed as a standout defensive tackle for the Conquerors, leading the team to its second consecutive Class 3A title.
The SEC has taken notice with 11 schools offering scholarships. But the No. 37 overall Florida prospect is expected to stay in state.
Norton’s current favorites are Florida and Miami. The senior has official visits planned to both schools in January, which is extremely important for the Gators, who need to keep Norton’s interest after Will Muschamp’s departure.
“I hope to meet him soon. I want to see what kind of guy he is,” Norton told 247Sports earlier this month. “I want to know if he is going to keep some of the coaches from the old staff.”
The four-star lineman will also take official visits to Virginia Tech and Ole Miss.
“I’ll be taking [an official visit] to Virginia Tech, Miami and Ole Miss right now,” Norton said. “I believe with Virginia Tech, we don’t have a date set up yet, but Miami will be on January 15th through 17th or something like that and then Ole Miss will be late January, like 20-something.”
Florida has received all 10 of the 247Sports crystal ball predictions, although the most recent came in September, several months before the program parted ways with its former coach.
The 6-foot-3, 305-pound senior ranks as the No. 257 overall player in the 247Sports composite rankings. Norton will participate in the Under Armour All-America game on Jan. 2, 2015.
