Trey’Dez Green’s mother gives positive update after injury to LSU tight end

Trey’Dez Green saw his night end in the fourth quarter after suffering an apparent leg injury during LSU‘s Week 3 game against Ole Miss.
While things looked fairly dire at the time of Green’s departure — he couldn’t put weight on his leg — his mother, Laketrackey, posted some promising news to her Facebook page on Sunday.
“(His) MRI showed nothing is torn, (though) he has some bad sprains and bruises. No surgery needed,” Laketrackey Green said.
While Green won’t need surgery on his leg, it remains to be seen how much time he’ll miss. When he left the game, he had recorded four catches for 60 yards. He has 14 catches for 222 yards and a touchdown so far this season.
The 2025 second-team All-SEC pick and 2026 preseason first-team selection, one of the top tight ends in the country, recorded four touchdowns as a true freshman in 2024 before finishing his sophomore season with 433 yards, the third-highest on the team. His seven touchdown catches led the Tigers.
After the firing of Brian Kelly, he opted to remain at LSU to play for Lane Kiffin, as he looks to continue his development as a dynamic offensive weapon. He’s considered a consensus first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
