Treylon Burks unable to finish first practice of Titans minicamp

Treylon Burks’ professional football career is off to a rough start. The former Arkansas wide receiver was unable to get through the first practice of Tennessee Titans minicamp.
Burks was observed as having some trouble breathing in the wide receivers’ first drill.

According to ProFootballTalk, after Burks first trip inside the facility, he returned to work with wide receivers coach Rob Moore on releases and head fakes. Burks went back inside the facility a second time and did not return to practice.
Titans head coach Mike Vrabel offered his assessment after practice. Vrabel said working with a trainer sometimes isn’t enough to get a player ready for NFL practice.
“I think it’s hard to think that they can recreate, with a trainer, how we do things, and we see that with guys that have come back and started with our offseason program and guys that have joined a few weeks in. It’s just different,” Vrabel told reporters “I know that they’re working, and they think they are trying to get in shape, but that’s just not the case. That’s something we have to focus on and try to make sure we’re getting some work in, but with all of them, we’re trying to be as smart as we possibly can.”

It’s only May, so Burks has a few months to get acclimated, but it’s not the kind of practice debut expected from a first-round NFL Draft pick. The Titans took Burks No. 18 overall.
