Trifecta: Georgia adds massive 4-star DL for 3rd commitment of day

Georgia recruiting is on fire. In a matter of hours, the Bulldogs have landed 3 blue-chip commitments.
PJ Dean, a standout 2026 defensive lineman, got the party started by choosing Georgia over South Carolina. Later Tuesday, UGA picked up its first defensive commitment for 2027 with a verbal pledge from 4-star DB Donte Wright. Kirby Smart wasn’t done.
Preston Carey is the latest recruit to announce his commitment to the Dawgs. The blue-chip defensive lineman gives Georgia 18 commitments for 2026 during the month of June.
Originally from East Northport, New York, Carey preps at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He is listed at 6-5, 300 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Carey is rated 4-stars, the No. 36 defensive lineman, No. 48 player in the state of Florida and No. 309 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.
Carey picked up scholarship offers from 50 programs during his recruitment. He told Hayes Fawcett of On3 that he chose Georgia over Florida, Rutgers and Auburn.
With Carey in the fold, Georgia is up to 26 commitments in its 2026 recruiting class, which ranks No. 2 in the nation behind only USC. Fans can get a feel for what Carey brings to Athens by checking out his highlights below:
