Trinidad Chambliss previews gargantuan clash vs. LSU: ‘It’s going to be weird’

Trinidad Chambliss had a breakout season last year under the guidance of Lane Kiffin, and that will make this Saturday night in Oxford all the more, well, weird.
That’s exactly the word that the Ole Miss star quarterback used in looking ahead to this Saturday night’s highly anticipated showdown between the Rebels and their former head coach, who bolted from Oxford toward the end of last season to take the head coaching position at SEC rival LSU.
Now, we only have to wait until Week 3 of the following season for not only Ole Miss and LSU to meet, but for it to happen in Oxford, where the crowd will be as hyped up as one could ever imagine for a football game. The Rebels and Tigers will kick off their matchup of ranked teams at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC, as the SEC opener for both 2-0 teams gets the royal treatment on national TV, in primetime.
Back to Chambliss, who will have a lot of emotions circulating within him this week as he prepares to face Kiffin and then, of course, on game night.
“It’s going to be a crazy weekend in Oxford. But it’s just another game, though,” Chambliss said. “Everything that’s going on outside of football really doesn’t matter to us. We’re just worried about football.”
But Chambliss also said the quiet part out loud.
“It’s going to be weird, but it is what it is,” he said.
