Trinidad Chambliss throws clutch TD to extend Ole Miss’ lead over LSU before halftime

Trinidad Chambliss is widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in the country, and a big reason why is his ability to make the key play when his team needs it.
No one knows that better than Lane Kiffin, but on Saturday night, he has been on the wrong side of it.
LSU had finally put points on the board to cut it to 17-7 with 1:57 remaining in the first half, but Chambliss led the Rebels down the field and connected with Deuce Alexander for a 20-yard touchdown to push the lead back to 24-7 at the half.

Chambliss put together one of the better first half performances you will see from a quarterback. He completed 21of-27 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns, and was in complete control of the game the entire way. With all the hype coming into this game with Kiffin and the Rebels’ fans, the poise and composure that Chambliss showed throughout the game was impressive.
Kiffin tried his hardest to get Chambliss to go with him to Baton Rouge, but the quarterback ultimately decided to stay in Oxford with coach Pete Golding. So far, that has been the difference in this game, as he has outplayed Sam Leavitt thoroughly.
