Troy coach Chip Lindsey outlines what challenges lie ahead against South Carolina

Troy coach Chip Lindsey is as aware of any non-conference coach may be with South Carolina, in part because he recruited QB Luke Doty when he was the offensive coordinator at Auburn.
Lindsey shared with reporters that the game this week with the Gamecocks is an exciting challenge to play a Power 5 or SEC school.
“We’ve got our hands full,” Lindsey said during his weekly press conference, per The State.
Along with Doty, Lindsey commented on the other Gamecock stars, such as Kingsley “JJ” Enagbare and Josh Vann.
“Man, he’s a dynamic pass rusher,” Lindsey said. “Explosive, big-time player. (Will) play in the NFL for a long time. … Just a really disruptive player and plays extremely hard.”
Lindsey said Enagbare will play in the NFL for a long time. Enagbare leads the Gamecocks with 2.5 sacks and a fumble recovery.
“Just a really disruptive player and plays extremely hard,” Lindsey said.
About Vann, Lindsey identified him as South Carolina’s “guy.”
“He’s explosive and a really good route runner,” Lindsey said. “We’re gonna have to have a great plan to try to neutralize him as much as we can.”
Lindsey continued to call it a great opportunity as the Trojans have gotten off to a 2-2 start with wins over Southern and Southern Miss, and losses to Liberty and Louisiana-Monroe.
“Obviously, this is going to be a challenge for us, and we need to play physical,” Lindsey said. “If we do that, and we get ourselves going offensively a little bit, I think we’ll have a great opportunity.”
