Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa suffered a season-ending hip injury during the 2019 campaign, and he’s still working his way back to full strength.

As the NFL Draft quickly approaches, Tagovailoa is still a likely first-round pick, and may even go in the top 5, so the injury didn’t hurt his stock too much.

Ahead of the Super Bowl on Sunday, Tagovailoa has been making the media rounds. Per AL.com, he said in an interview that he’s grateful to have suffered the hip injury to find out how tough he really was:

“In life, I’m grateful that I got to experience both sides of the spectrum,” he told FS1. “I got to experience being at the top of the mountain where I felt like everything was there for me, and also just being in the [bottom] of the valley, just being low. I just think it’s good in a sense because that’s just how life is.

“You learn when you’re successful but I think you can learn more when you’re not successful. You don’t take things for granted as much. You understand maturity that comes with losing. It’s just life. You win, you lose, you got to move on. You got to cope with it.”

How will Tua fare when he’s able to start throwing again? Where will he go in the draft?

Those questions will be answered by April.
