Tua Tagovailoa makes NFL history after first Dolphins start

The Miami Dolphins drafted Tua Tagovailoa at No. 5 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft because of his incredible abilities throwing the football. On Sunday, however, the Dolphins didn’t need him to throw the ball around the yard to get the win.
Tagovailoa became the first NFL quarterback this century to win his debut posting fewer than 100 passing yards. The last NFL QB to do so was Donovan McNabb in 1999.
Tagovailoa was 12-of-22 passing for 93 yards and his first career touchdown in Miami’s 28-17 win over the Los Angeles Rams. It was a statistically odd win for the Dolphins as they were out-gained in yards (471-145) and first downs (31-8).
Tagovailoa and company will certainly take the victory.
