Tulsa provides update on QB Baylor Hayes ahead of Week 4 matchup at Arkansas

Tulsa is off to a great start in 2026, as the Golden Hurricane are 3-0. One of those wins was against an Oklahoma State team that went on to beat Oregon the following week. The Golden Hurricane have another game against a Power-4 team as they take on Arkansas in Week 4.
Tulsa quarterback Baylor Hayes is dealing with an injury, and he is doubtful for the game against the Razorbacks according to head coach Tre Lamb.
Hayes played in the first 2 games of the year, but suffered a Grade 1 knee sprain and missed the 42-0 win against East Texas A&M. If Hayes is unable to play, then it will once again be Dexter Williams as the starting quarterback. Last week, he threw for 164 yards and 3 touchdowns.
This is a huge game for Tulsa, as this is another opportunity to get a win against a Power-4 team. With the setup of the College Football Playoff, wins against Arkansas and Oklahoma State would be a great start for the Golden Hurricane nearing the start of conference play in Week 5.
The Razorbacks are looking to bounce back from a 45-17 home loss to Georgia. After starting 1-0, Arkansas had consecutive games against Utah and Georgia. That is as tough a stretch as any team has dealt with this season, and Ryan Silverfield’s team will be desperate to get back on the winning track.
