Preseason All-American left tackle Laremy Tunsil will not play against Tennessee-Martin today, Ole Miss beat writers are reporting.
Tunsil’s father-in-law accused the junior of meeting with an NFL agent. The two got into a scuffle resulting in Tunsil’s arrest, though the charges were eventually dropped. But the allegations have led to an NCAA investigation.

Tunsil, a 6-foot-5, 305-pound lineman, is supposed to protect Chad Kelly and the other Ole Miss quarterbacks. He’s the key piece on a unit that was suspect last season. If he only misses the opener against Tennessee-Martin, it’s not a big deal.
Ole Miss’ statement mentions holding him out “until the pending process can be completed.” The Rebels certainly need Tunsil back in the fold by Sept. 19 when the team travels to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama.
