Lane Kiffin’s LSU staff continued its recent hot streak on the recruiting trail on Monday with back-to-back commitments.
In-state cornerback Markez Davis started things by announcing he was hopping on the Lane Train. Out of Opelousas (Louisiana) Northwest High School, Davis is listed as measuring 6-3, 180 pounds.
On the 247Sports Composite, Davis is rated as a 3-star athlete, the No. 21 recruit in Louisiana and No. 744 prospect overall. With the inclusion of Corey Raymond in Davis’s commitment announcement, it’s safe to say that the newest Tiger pledge will be playing in the secondary.
LSU didn’t have to wait long for another Tiger target to get on board. Blue-chip wide receiver Cade Cooper also committed to play for Lane Kiffin‘s program.

Out of Malvern (Pennsylvania) Prep, Cooper is listed at 6-3, 195 pounds. He’s rated 4-stars, the No. 10 player in Pennsylvania, No. 37 wide receiver and No. 297 prospect overall in the Class of 2027.
LSU now has 8 pledges for 2027, with half coming on Sunday and Monday. The class, with plenty of remaining spots, is currently No. 42 nationally on the Composite.
