On Saturday, the Cougars were once again the talk of the college football world, as the Knights ended BYU’s undefeated season with a shocking 39-31 double overtime victory.
The Cougars got off to a fast start, as they took their first drive 84 yards on 11 plays to take an early 7-0 lead on a 27-yard touchdown pass from Bear Bachmeier to Kyler Kasper.
However, the Knights wouldn’t go away and took a 17-14 lead into the half.

It was much the same in the second half, and the Knights had a chance to win it in regulation on a field goal. With the Knights kicking a potential game-winning field goal, the Cougars were able to get a huge block to send the game to overtime.
After both teams scored in the first overtime, Knights quarterback Keyone Jenkins delivered a strike to Grayson Brousseau to take the 37-31 lead. The Knights were able to convert on the two-point conversion, and then got a stop on fourth down to secure the victory.
Jenkins led the way for the Knights with 293 yards and three touchdowns. Bachmeier finished with 257 yards and two touchdowns.
All isn’t lost for the Cougars, as Texas Tech was also upset on Saturday, creating chaos in the Big 12. The Cougars will be back in action next week at home against Arizona State.
