Sports world reacts to No. 16 UMBC pulling the greatest NCAA Tournament upset over No. 1 Virginia

The sports world is still in disbelief that for the first time in history a No. 16 seed beat a No. 1 seed.
UMBC dominated UVA 74-54, pulling the greatest upset in NCAA Tournament history. Prior to Friday night, No. 1 seeds were a combined 132-0 against No. 16 seeds, but not anymore. It wasn’t just an upset; it was a beat-down.
Friday night became just UVA’s second 20-point loss in the past four seasons.
And here’s how everyone reacted:
PUT SOME RESPECK ON IT! WE HAVE DEFEATED NO.1 OVERALL SEED VIRGINIA 74-54

Amazing what happens when an under “dog” gets a fair shot in an expanded playoff ?
Congrats on the history, @UMBCAthletics ✊

How shocking was this? Not only did 16-seed #UMBC take down a No. 1 seed, this is only #UVA's second 20-point loss in the past four years.

Someone tell UMBC’s coach his team just pulled the biggest upset in NCAA history. Dude is way too calm. I’d be ripping my shirt off running up and down the stadium stairs.

No. 16 UMBC has blown out Virginia, the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA tournament. This is truly one of the greatest upsets in the history of sports.

This defies any logic or explanation and that’s why it’s so amazing
