We are now eight weeks into the 2018 season, and the College Football Playoff picture is still unclear.
Alabama, Clemson and Notre Dame are all undefeated and look like current locks for one of the four spots, but there’s still a long way to go.
On Sunday, SuperBook USA released updated National Championship odds, and four SEC teams were mentioned — Alabama, LSU, Georgia and Florida:
New @CFBPlayoff title odds via @SuperBookUSA:
Bama 2/5
Clemson 7/2
Notre Dame 7/1
Ohio State 10/1
Georgia, Michigan 12/1
OU 30/1
LSU 40/1
Texas 50/1
UCF 60/1
West Virginia 100/1
Iowa, Florida 200/1
USF, Washington, Wash. State, Wisconsin 300/1
Penn State, Stanford 500/1— Brett McMurphy (@Brett_McMurphy) October 21, 2018
As you can see, Alabama is the heavy favorite to win the title, checking in with 2/5 odds. Florida is tied with Iowa at 200/1, bringing up the rear for the four SEC squads in the mix.
LSU and Alabama play each other in Week 10 after a bye and Georgia and Florida square off this coming weekend in Jacksonville, so we’ll know a lot more about which SEC teams have the best chance to win the title two Sundays from now.
