Michigan is struggling to pull away from in-state foe Western Michigan in Week 1.
The Wolverines have had their chances, but find themselves leading by just 1 point — by the score of 7-6 — after 3 quarters in Ann Arbor.
Just before the 3rd quarter expired, Western Michigan picked up a 3rd-and-14 conversion to keep its drive alive. The Broncos are on the door step of field goal range and may be able to take the lead in the final stanza.
It’s been a rough night for Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood, who threw an interception in his own territory with less than 10 seconds to go in the first half. That mistake allowed WMU to kick a field goal to make it 7-6 at the half.
