Former Florida coach Urban Meyer announced that he contracted COVID-19 last week but is recovered and none of his FOX colleagues tested positive.
Meyer revealed the news in an interview with WBNS’ Dom Tiberi, via Awful Announcing.
“I’ve just recently gotten over it. I was relatively symptom-free, I tested positive and that’s why we couldn’t do Big Noon Kickoff last week,” Meyer said. “The good news is none of my partners and teammates had it, and we’re going to be back at it this weekend.”
FOX’s Big Noon Saturday crew of Meyer, Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush, Brady Quinn and Rob Stone couldn’t participate in the show last week due to COVID-19 protocols. Charissa Thompson, Howie Long, Terry Bradshaw, and Emmanuel Acho filled the void in their absence.
Meyer guided Florida to national titles in 2006 and 2008 then captured another with Ohio State in 2014. Meyer amassed a 187-32 record during his coaching career.
