According to a post from the Commodores and Cavaliers on Friday, the first game of the home-and-home series is set to be played at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville on September 16, 2028. The return matchup is set to take place in Charlottesville during the 2031 season, with the exact date to be determined.

The last matchup between Vanderbilt and Virginia took place just over 50 years ago on November 1, 1975. The win was the start of a 4-game win streak for the Commodores, which ended the season 7-4.
