Vanderbilt football is back in action with a home contest vs. Austin Peay in Week 1. The Commodores are coming off a 10-3 season, which was the programโ€™s first double-digit win total ever.

Leading up to the season opener, Vanderbilt revealed its uniform combo. The Commodores will wear white helmets with black jerseys and white pants against the Governors.

Austin Peay, an FCS program out of the United Athletic Conference, defeated visiting Gardner-Webb 35-17 in its season opener. The Governors knocked off Middle Tennessee 34-14 in their season opener last season, en route to a 7-5 record.

This is the third-ever meeting between the teams. Vanderbilt is 2-0 against Austin Peay, with both meetings in Nashville. The Commodores most recently beat the Governors 47-7 on Sept. 19, 2015.

Vanderbilt is on a four-game winning streak in season openers. Prior to that, the Commodores were 2-7 in their last nine season-opening games.

Blaze Berlowitz takes over at quarterback for Vanderbilt now that Diego Pavia is gone. The 6-foot-3 senior is in his second season with the Commodores. In limited playing time, Berlowitz passed for 131 with a touchdown through the air and a rushing score last season.

Austin Peay at Vanderbilt is slated for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff and will be televised on SEC Network+.
