Vernon Hargreaves, who was inactive in the Super Bowl, flagged for celebration penalty

Published:
Vernon Hargreaves received one of the more bone-headed penalties in Super Bowl history as he ran on the field out of uniform as the Cincinnati Bengals celebrated an interception.
Hargreaves, the former Florida Gators cornerback who was inactive, cost the Bengals 15 yards on the play and he received plenty of criticism from fans and media. It came after a pick by Bengals DB Jessie Bates who intercepted Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford in the end zone late in the first half. The Bengals got a touchback out of it, but then Hargreaves ran on the field.
Hargreaves appeared in just 4 games with 1 start this season as the Bengals were his third team after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Houston Texans.
