Video: Redshirt be damned, Shea Patterson era off to a raucous start

Despite having relatively little to play for the rest of the way, some Ole Miss fans didn’t want to burn Shea Patterson’s redshirt.
Fortunately, Rebels coach Hugh Freeze didn’t listen to any of them. He gave Patterson his first career start at Texas A&M, and the five-star phenom didn’t disappoint in a 29-28 upset in front of a stunned Kyle Field.
Drawing comparisons to ex-Aggies Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel, Patterson threw for 338 yards and ran for 64 more. Proving that the moment wasn’t too big for him, he drove Mississippi down the field to set up a game-winning field goal from Gary Wunderlich with only 37 seconds left to play in regulation.
Be sure to watch the video above for some quick commentary after a come-from-behind victory for the Rebs in College Station.
