Former Florida star Walter Clayton Jr. is off to a good start in his pro career.

Clayton played 25 minutes off the bench in his first Summer League game on Saturday night in Salt Lake City. He scored 9 points and dished out 6 assists in a 93-89 win over Philadelphia.

To the surprise of no one who watched Clayton in college, he hit a clutch go-ahead shot with just over 2.5 minutes remaining in regulation. A 3-pointer that found the bottom of the net gave the Jazz an 83-82 lead in their eventual win over the 76ers.

Here’s a clip of Clayton’s big shot:

Clayton also got to the foul line with under 30 seconds remaining to help the Jazz secure the win.

Utah traded for Clayton at No. 18 overall in the 2025 NBA Draft last month. In addition to his senior season at Florida, Clayton had an excellent pre-draft process and was one of the first upper classmen taken in this year’s draft.

Clayton is playing on an excellent Utah Summer League team that also includes recent college basketball stars Kyle Filipowski, Brice Sensabaugh, Ace Bailey, Isaiah Collier and Cody Williams. The Jazz will be in action again on Monday against the Memphis Grizzlies.
