Next year marks the 150th year of college football, and what a century and a half it has been!

From the early days of the sport, with Princeton, Yale and Harvard dominating the scene to Alabama’s ongoing dynasty, the game has changed quite a bit over the years.

In honor of the game’s 150-year anniversary, ESPN announced two new docuseries, set to begin in Sept. 2019. As you can see in the trailer below, they’ll be called “The American Game” and “The Greatest,” chronicling some of the best moments from the game’s history:

According to a release from ESPN, the series will be a year-long affair, and will be told over a variety of platforms:

With the 150thย anniversary of college football arriving in 2019, ESPN is embarking on a year-long, multi-platform storytelling experience that was initially announced in August 2017. As part of the initiative, two weekly documentary series will be launched, with both capturing the pageantry and passion of a sport that is an American institution.

It should be an exciting series, since there are plenty of topics to cover. Perhaps the 2018 season will also provide some all-time moments to be chronicled.
