Former Florida slugger Pete Alonso is re-writing the MLB record books.
The New York Mets rookie notched home run No. 40 of the season, breaking the MLB’s rookie record. Obviously, with this coming in game 124 of 162, Alonso will likely add to his already remarkable tally.
The Mets improved to 64-60 on the season with an 11-5 win over the Kansas City Royals. The homer was hit in Kansas City, but the ball has been returned to Alonso.
