Lane Kiffin is making his return to Oxford on Saturday as his new LSU Tigers are taking on Ole Miss in one of the most anticipated SEC matchups in quite some time.
It was only 10 months ago that Kiffin was getting the Rebels prepared to make a run in the College Football Playoff. The rest is history, as he infamously left right before the CFP, and Ole Miss fans haven’t quite forgiven him for doing that.
During his arrival to the stadium on Saturday night, he was met with a much expected chorus of boos. Here’s video of the scene in Oxford via Trey Wallace:

Kiffin has had his fair share of controversy and bizarre departures from a school, but none of them were quite like the situation last year. Add the fact that both of these are legitimate contenders in the SEC as well as the CFP, and college football fans across the country have had this game circled since the moment the schedule came out.
There has been a ton of gamesmanship throughout the week, as LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt found himself on the injury report for much of the week. It is still early in the season, but rarely does a Week 3 game have the storylines that this game does.
