WATCH: Nebraska freshman QB delivers early leader for worst play of the day

Things are not going well for Nebraska against Ohio State on Saturday afternoon, and it’s only getting worse.

After the Cornhuskers took a surprising 7-0 lead, the kicker literally fell on his face attempting a surprise onside kick.

Then, later in the first half, while driving down the field, freshman QB Adrian Martinez made a bizarre decision, throwing a backward pass while on the run, leading to an easy Ohio State fumble recovery:

That, obviously, is a huge mental mistake, and one coach Scott Frost will be sure his young freshman quarterback learns from. Still, you’d hope that a quarterback, no matter his age, knows not to do something like that.

That’s just how Frost’s first year as Nebraska’s coach has gone, though.
