WATCH: Random football bounces onto field during first college football game of year

College football is officially back, and we already have our first strange moment of the 2019 season.
This comes to us from the Colgate-Villanova FCS showdown, where a random football caused a delay in the action.
As you can see below, as Colgate is getting ready to snap the ball (the actual game ball), another ball comes bouncing onto the field before being scooped up and fired back to the sideline by a Villanova defender:

You don’t often see that at the college level. That’s more of an issue in the high school ranks, when young children sometimes serve as ballboys.
