WATCH: Former Tennessee sprinter Christian Coleman breaks 20-year-old world record in 60 meters

On Friday, former Tennessee sprinter Christian Coleman broke a 20-year-old world record in the 60 meters in 6.37 seconds. He broke Maurice Greene’s record of 6.39 in 1998. Coleman was just a toddler when Greene set the record.

Earlier in the day at Clemson, Coleman won his heat in 6.47. Coleman made headlines in 2017 after finishing one place ahead of Usain Bolt in the 100m at the IAAF World Championships in London.

While at Tennessee, Coleman had an incredible junior season. He was the NCAA Outdoor Champion 100m and 200m, along with being the Indoor Champion in the 60m and 200m. He turned pro in June of 2017 with a seven-figure endorsement deal with Nike.
