Cross one more off from the ranks of the unbeaten.

On Saturday night in Raleigh, North Carolina, NC State earned just its second ACC win of the season by knocking off No. 8 Georgia Tech, 48-36.

The Yellow Jackets opened the season 8-0, their best start since 1966. They had been ranked as high as No. 7 in the AP poll earlier this season, tied with several other seasons for their highest ranking since 1990.

And they simply could not stop NC State.

The Wolfpack produced 583 yards of total offense and averaged 7.1 yards per play. Quarterback CJ Bailey completed 24 of his 32 passes for 340 yards and 2 scores. Running back Jayden Scott ran 24 times for 340 yards and a touchdown.

NC State had 10 possessions.

Eight of them ended with points.

And while NC State scored touchdowns, Georgia Tech repeatedly settled for field goals. The Yellow Jackets kicked a field goal from the NC State 37-yard line that missed. They converted field goals from the NC State 26, the 5, and the 12.

The game ended on a Haynes King interception on a Hail Mary attempt.

With Navy and Georgia Tech both losing on Saturday, just 4 teams are left without a loss this season.

BYU, Indiana, Texas A&M, and Ohio State are unbeaten. The Aggies are 8-0 for the first time since 1994 after demolishing LSU on the road in Week 9. A&M faces Mizzou on the road next weekend.
