I’ll talk to a few NFL scouts throughout the season to get their take on SEC players that are helping or hurting their prospects at the next level. Iโ€™ll pass along some of those thoughts to you here.

Here are some of the SECย players that have scouts talking this week.

STOCK RISING

  • Benardrick McKinney, LB, Mississippi State:ย He has great size atย 6-foot-5.ย He’s got the speed and toughnessย of anย NFL linebacker. He could be a star in the NFL.
  • Landon Collins, S, Alabama:ย He can play in space and cover, but he’ll also come up and whack you.
  • Matt Jones,ย RB, Florida:ย He’s a power back that can break tackles and he’s also tough as nails. He doesn’t go down easy and fights for extra yards. He’s a prototypical NFL power back with good hands.

STOCK FALLING

  • Duke Williams,ย WR, Auburn:ย His knee injury hurts big time. Hopefully he recovers quickly and gets healthy soon.
  • A.J. Johnson,ย LB, Tennessee:ย He’s very productive at the college level, but scoutsย donโ€™t see it translating into the NFL because his lack of speed and he doesnโ€™t bend very well. He must improve in those areas.
