Week 11 overrated and underrated

There are definitely some overrated teams out there, as well as underrated. This week we saw quite a few — three, to be exact. All top 10 teams that got exposed.

We’ll focus strictly on the SEC.

OVERRATED: KENTUCKY

I’ve been on the Kentucky bandwagon all year and picked them to upset a few different teams lately. So like a few others, I’ve overrated the Wildcats this season.

I do think that coach Mark Stoops has that program heading in the right direction and will do very good things in Lexington, but this season has been a roller coaster.

I am guilty of drinking the Kentucky Kool-Aid this year and I’m regretting it now. After Georgia lost last week to the Gators, I didn’t think they would come out and absolutely destroy Kentucky the way they did.

The Wildcats have played a lot better at home and I thought they would be able to beat the Bulldogs. I don’t think I’m gonna be taking Kentucky again this year, but strange things always tend to happen when you least expect it.

UNDERRATED: TEXAS A&M QB KYLE ALLEN

After throwing for 106 yards the prior week, I didn’t give Texas A&M a shot in hell to come out of Jordan-Hare Stadium with a win against No. 3 Auburn.

Allen and company silenced a lot of doubters, myself included. I knew that Auburn’s defense has been getting exposed lately, but I still didn’t think the Aggies had any chance of winning that game.

Allen threw for 277 yards and 4 touchdowns in the huge upset for A&M, and coach Sumlin’s offense looks to have gotten back on track.
