Week 5 SEC kickoff weather forecast: Expect a wet Saturday

At least it isn’t thunderstorms. The games should continue.

But fans headed to Athens, Ga., Knoxville, Tenn., Lexington, Ky., and Murfreesboro, Tenn., on Saturday need to gather up some ponchos and umbrellas. It’s going to be wet.

All four of those games feature at least a 60 percent chance of rain at kickoff. Arkansas-Tennessee and Alabama-Georgia almost certainly will take the field under slippery conditions. All four teams feature strong running games, so it shouldn’t affect the style of play all that much.

Despite a 7:30 p.m. kickoff, Mississippi State and Texas A&M will experience relatively warm temperatures — the forecast calls for 77 degrees at Kyle Field. But the majority of the SEC will get temperatures in the 50s and 60s, so fans with a low tolerance for cooler weather will want to take that into consideration.

Check out the complete kickoff forecast below.
