Welcome back, Ryan Coleman-Williams: Alabama scores nifty opening TD at LSU

Prior to Saturday’s game at LSU, Ryan Coleman-Williams hadn’t played since the Crimson Tide fell to Georgia in early October. The star receiver made his return in Week 10 at a crucial junction in Alabama‘s season.
And he made an immediate impact. Coleman-Williams scored the first touchdown of the evening in Baton Rouge, taking an end-around toss from Keelon Russell following a fake handoff to Daniel Hill.
For the time being, Alabama leads LSU 10-7 nearing the end of the first half:
Coleman-Williams is one of the most talented receivers in college football when healthy, able to affect the game in different ways — not just as a receiver. The above score is a prime example of this. Both of Coleman-Williams’ touches on Saturday have been rushes.
Coleman-Williams is just an elite, shifty athlete. For the season, he’s accumulated 23 receptions for 415 yards and 4 touchdowns across just 6 games. He’s also returned 7 punts for 53 yards and taken 4 rushes for 23 yards and the above touchdown. The more Alabama can get RCW the football in space, the better its offense can be.
Alabama sorely needs another resume-building win. The Crimson Tide are leaning on a Week 2 statement against Kentucky alongside a Week 4 win over Mississippi State featuring QB Kamario Taylo.
