Arkansas will be trying to end two losing streaks when it clashes with Texas A&M on Saturday.

Not only are the Razorbacks (1-3, 1-1 SEC) in the midst of the three-game losing streak, they’ve lost six straight to the Aggies (2-2, 0-1) since Texas A&M joined the SEC in 2012. Three of the last four games in the rivalry have gone to overtime, so we’ll see if the trend continues when the teams meet at noon Saturday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Here’s what Morris had to say about the matchup, his team’s struggles and other pressing issues in college football:

On the redshirt rule and older guys leaving, did you anticipate this, or is this a surprise?

  • Probably a surprise. I don’t think anyone saw this coming, what it could lead to. I don’t think we saw this coming.

How much is this on your radar now?

  • I think it’s on everyone’s radar now. You understand it and you move on with it.

Will special teams units be mixed up this week?

  • The mistakes that were made last Saturday are fixable. We look at personnel and we scatter our guys all over our unit.

On scoring production, how do you score more moving forward?

  • Staying on the field, we have to do better on first down. You have to be efficient on third down, and that’s something we have struggled with.

Will you continue to watch your son play football in high school?

  • Yeah, opportunities we get when it works with our schedule.

On losing six in a row to A&M, how do you overcome that?

  • We need to be more consistent. In regards to the past, I think this has been a close matchup over the years. I think there are guys on this team that have been close, but this is a new year with new guys this year.

Is there a psychological barrier on your team, considering they’ve never beaten the Aggies?

  • I think the psychological barrier is on us, just being more consistent and getting better every day.

On this week being a trophy game, your players said this game has added importance, do you buy into that?

  • Well, I think there is added importance with every week because it’s the only game this week.
