Coach Jimbo Fisher said after Texas A&M’s win over Arkansas that he’s always believed in QB Kellen Mond, and like the rest of the Aggies, he keeps improving and growing each week.
The Aggies got a 42-31 victory over the Razorbacks as Mond was 21-for-26 for 260 yards and three touchdowns in the win. The Aggies have now won three straight and play South Carolina next week.
Here’s what Fisher shared with the media after the game:
Fisher on if his team is playing like a Top 10 team: “I don’t know what a Top 10 looks like, I just know we’ve got to play better than the team we’re playing.”

Fisher (jokingly) on anything he didn’t like about A&M’s performance: “Yeah we didn’t win 80-0 — I’m just joking…I was disappointed we weren’t able to run the clock out at the end, and wish we didn’t give up that last drive defensively.”

Fisher: “We had three holds, which is uncharacteristic for our offensive line. We had two holding penalties in one drive and overcame them to score a touchdown. That doesn’t happen too often.”

Jimbo Fisher on RB Devon Achane: I feel comfortable putting him in the game at any place and any time. … He’s becoming a big piece to what we’re doing.

Jimbo Fisher on TE Jalen Wydermyer: I thought he did well. .. He’s learning to be a complete tight end. … He made some really big, critical plays.

Jimbo Fisher on Tyree Johnson’s sack just before the half: If they score there, they have the ball coming out the second half. … That was a huge, huge play.

Jimbo Fisher on A&M’s OL: We had three holding penalties, which is uncharacteristic. Our OL is getting better and better. One of the things I think is critical … is communication. Knowing what’s going to happen before it happens. That lets your technique be better.

Jimbo Fisher: I’ve always believed in Kellen [Mond]. He keeps growing and growing and keeps getting better and better each week.
