Tennessee football is 8-0 and has looked good on its way there.
Head coach Josh Heupel opened his pregame press conference the same way he does every game after a win: By thanking the fans and appreciating the atmosphere they create.
#Vols head coach Josh Heupel: Great day in Knoxville. The atmosphere and energy was awesome. Can’t thank our guys enough and our fans enough for creating an advantage for us.

He followed that by looking back at how far the Vols have come during his time in Knoxville. When he took over, the Vols were a bottom tier SEC team. Now, they’re one of the top 3 in the country.
Was it the job he was envisioning? Absolutely.
Josh Heupel on if he envisioned this much success this quickly when he took the job: These are the group of individuals that chose to stay. They wanted to be here. You can see that they care about each other and you can cover a lot of ground when that’s the case.

The Vols have mostly avoided the injury bug this season, or at least they’ve avoided repercussions from the injury bug. Heupel said postgame that the Vols are set to be as healthy as they’ve been all season when they travel to Athens next week.
Josh Heupel says that next week the team has an opportunity to be the most healthy they’ve been this season. He added everyone should be back. #Vols pic.twitter.com/QZJmZWl2VD

Here’s more from Heupel’s postgame press conference.
Josh Heupel on next Saturday’s game against Georgia: Certainly going to be a big ball game. It’s a great opportunity. These games are why you come to Tennessee.

Heupel says Tennessee is “for sure” more fresh defensively with its better depth this year.

Heupel says there wasn’t a moment this week that he felt like the team was looking ahead to Georgia.
