Last week, it was the JT Daniels show as Georgia bounced-back from the Florida loss with a 31-24 win over Mississippi State. Saturday night, for Smart’s 50th win, Daniels had a quieter night, going 10-of-16 passing for 139 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception in UGA’s 45-16 revenge game win at South Carolina.

In his SEC Network postgame comments, Smart was asked about his QB’s second outing.

โ€œHe did a really good job tonight, it was a different type of game,โ€ Smart said. โ€œWe didnโ€™t ask him to do a lot; he did what we asked him to do.โ€

โ€œHe probably left some plays on the field that heโ€™d like to get back,โ€ Smart added. โ€œHeโ€™s really smart, heโ€™s done a good job. Weโ€™ve got to get working with him in the pocket.โ€

Smart noted it’s not all on Daniels. Daniels’ supporting cast is banged-up, but the run game took the pressure off of the transfer QB.

โ€œWeโ€™ve got to get healthy around him to help him,โ€ Smart said. โ€œThe run game was his friend tonight.โ€

In his postgame press conference, Smart touched on the offense as well as other topics. Here are the highlights, shared on social media by media members on the Zoom call:
