LSU announced its 2026 spring football schedule on Friday.

The Tigers are gearing up for Year 1 under new head coach Lane Kiffin. Expectations are as high as ever for the Tigers, who will be looking for a bounce back season following a disastrous 2025 campaign.

LSU‘s efforts to get back to the College Football Playoff in 2026 will start with a series of practices this spring.

LSU spring football schedule

LSU has announced that its slate of 15 spring practices will begin on March 24. The Tigers will then practice every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday through April 23. The final practice of LSU’s spring session will take place on Friday, May 24.

When is LSU’s spring game?

Although LSU announced it spring practice schedule on Friday, the Tigers did not confirm whether or not it will hold a traditional spring game or fan event in 2026.

Numerous top programs, including LSU, did not hold a spring game in 2025. Kiffin’s Ole Miss program did not have a spring game last season either, instead holding a “Meet the Rebels Day” fan event.

Further confirmation on LSU’s spring game plans — or lack thereof — will presumably be announced in the coming weeks.

LSU incoming players

Due to the coaching turnover this offseason, this spring will be a crucial time for nearly everyone on LSU’s roster.

Kiffin and his staff heavily invested in the transfer portal this winter, signing star players such as former Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt, former Colorado offensive tackle Jordan Seaton and former Ole Miss receiver Winnie Watkins, among many others.

LSU’s transfer portal class ranked No. 1 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

This spring will also be an important evaluation period for LSU’s class of incoming freshmen. Despite the coaching change, LSU signed a top-15 high school recruiting class that includes early-enrollees such as 5-star defensive lineman Richard Anderson and 4-star receiver Corey Barber.
