Whit Weeks and the LSU Tigers took over the scene to kick off SEC Media Days on Monday morning.

The star LSU linebacker, who Brian Kelly defined as the team’s “driver” during his time at the podium, fielded a few questions from reporters regarding his early insight into the 2025 Tigers. One thing he mentioned was how speedy the WR corps has looked so far, specifically using the word “dizzying.”

“We had four dudes run over 23 miles per hour the other day, and that’s almost unheard of. These dudes are flying,” Weeks said.

Obviously, that would be an excellent development for who is already one of the top quarterbacks in the country, Garrett Nussmeier. The LSU receiver corps includes Oklahoma transfer Nic Anderson, Aaron Anderson and Kentucky transfer Barion Brown – and that’s not even mentioning Zavion Thomas and Chris Hilton Jr.

The good news doesn’t stop there, according to Weeks.

The Tigers put together a strong freshman class last offseason, and Weeks insisted that the new players have been as advertised so far. When pressed to name a specific player, he mentioned defensive tackle Zion Williams.

Williams is a 4-star prospect from Lufkin, Texas who is listed at 6-4, 355 pounds on LSU’s official site. He’s not the highest rated LSU commit in the 2025 cycle, which means he appears to be developing quicker than expected.

LSU opens the season against Clemson on August 30.
