Whit Weeks isn’t going anywhere, LSU fans.

The star LSU linebacker announced on Thursday via his Instagram account that he’ll be staying in Baton Rouge for another year. In his post, Weeks said, “College is too much fun to leave, and there is no better place in the country than Baton Rouge, Louisiana. All I want to do is ball in the purple and gold. See you in September.”

Weeks is an NFL-caliber linebacker who could have entered the 2026 NFL Draft, but his decision to stay makes a lot of sense due to his up-and-down, injury-riddled 2025 campaign.

Unfortunately, Weeks suffered an ankle injury against Baylor in the Texas Bowl at the end of the 2024 season, which bled over into 2025 and caused him to miss all but 6 games for the Tigers. Of the six games Weeks appeared in, only 4 came during or after the month of October.

Weeks is an absolute monster when healthy. The LSU linebacker put up 120 total tackles in 2024 while also adding 3.5 sacks, 4 pass deflections, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 interception. With that, Lane Kiffin retains an All-SEC defender to build his first LSU defense around.
